Gunnersbury Park is recruiting the last of its seven volunteer directors – five independents, one from the London Borough of Hounslow and one from the London Borough of Ealing – and is seeking someone who could be considered for the post of chair of the board which is currently being performed by one of the two council nominated directors.
The advertisement says, “As an Independent Director and potential candidate for chair, the successful applicant will contribute to the development of new heritage not for profit organisation, which will benefit from the support of two ambitious local authorities, Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic England and a range of other stakeholders committed to investing both capital and revenue resources into the park and museum. This stake holder community will hold the Gunnersbury board to account and demand high standards of management and community engagement and expects the board to operate as a successful social enterprise, blending commercial income generation with affordable community programming, whilst maintain the core offers of park and museum access as free services to the wider population of west London.”
